Buy property in Dubai and get a free yacht

Wealthy Dubai property buyers who can afford to splash out US$1 million or more on a home, office or shop can take their pick from a fleet of up-market boats and yachts as a free gift.

Developer Damac Properties will throw a jet ski, day cruiser or a luxury yacht in to the deal - depending on the price of the home.

The deal applies to any property purchase from one of Damac’s developments across Dubai until July 6.

The firm’s offer is part of Dubai’s annual summer surprises - a festival to promote the city as a summer destination for tourists.

More than 6,000 stores and businesses are staging discounts and offers as part of the festival.

DAMAC  senior vice president Niall McLoughlin said it was building on the company’s reputation for providing attractive and aspiring added value incentives during Dubai’s promotions and he hoped that it would be the start of a successful and prosperous event for Dubai.

“We considered long and hard our approach to the summer surprises. We felt it was critical to get our approach right in line with the market and to ensure that we did something that had mass appeal,” he added.

In recent years, the company has given customers  a private jet and a private island in the Caribbean.

‘’We believe that the current market is more receptive to a wide ranging promotion like this rather than a more extravagant raffle prize where there is only a chance for one person to win,” said McLoughlin.

“The climate in Dubai is perfect for boating, with estimates that there are over 50,000 leisure boats in the Middle East. We have a range of residential, commercial and retail properties in Dubai which already offer phenomenal value with the added bonus of coming with a luxurious boat, so we expect people to take up our extraordinary offer.”
